Compex Construction is a growing company making an impact on the exterior construction industry. We specialize in commercial hardscape construction, including fence, deck, and acoustic wall assembly. If there’s anything we don’t directly provide, we work with our solid network of contractors and developers to meet the needs of our clients.

Our head office is located in Bradford, Ontario, though we work throughout the province. With over 10 years of professional knowledge and experience, comprehensive insurance and registration within Ontario, and a hard-working and professional team, we ensure satisfaction for all of our clients.

We’re looking for crew labourers and forepersons to join our team as soon as possible. This is a secure job that we’d like to be long-term, with room to learn and grow within the company. As a COR certified and Living Wage Employer, we prioritize both the health and safety and well-being of our employees. 

In this role, you will perform all duties related to the construction of decks, fences, and acoustic walls under the supervision of the Foreperson. This includes tasks such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, digging, compacting, and working with various materials, tools, equipment, and machines.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • An energetic and hardworking nature, ready to take on the day and get the work done

  • Reliable and punctual, so we know we can count on you as part of the team
  • Basic understanding of the construction industry, tools, and equipment (though you’ll still learn on the job)
  • Ability to operate construction equipment considered an asset
  • A commitment to ensuring a clean, safe and healthy working environment
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to work well with both the team and our clients
  • Minimum of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and move 50lbs (+/-)
  • Ability to perform physical, repetitive work, at heights and where necessary, in a noisy environment using appropriate PPE
  • Relevant certifications (such as WHMIS, 4 Step Awareness, Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR, etc.) are considered an asset
